Dies R Us: Dropping By To Say Hello featuring Gorjuss Girl Fly Away With Me!

Happy Thursday everyone! I'm dropping in with my first ever post as part of the Dies R Us Design Team. Dies R Us is an online store that carries a wide range of dies from various manufacturers at some of the lowest prices! In addition, they are always running specials and flash sales!! Sign up for their newsletter so you can get the flash sale info.

I'm so excited and thrilled to be a part of this amazing team! The ladies are all very talented and very supportive of each other! It's awesome!! I also LOVE that I'll have more opportunities to used some of these dies I've been collecting, or as my hubby says hoarding....hahaha! :)

I have been a lover of Gorjuss girls for a very long time, so I was thrilled when they came out with these awesome Gorjuss Paper Doll Dies! The great thing is that you don't have to color anything. The die set contains all of the separate pieces of the doll. It also comes with a few sheets of two different patterns of paper and a magnet sheet to store your dies on. The die set I'm working with today is called Fly Away With Me.

At the top of the magnet sheet, you can see the patterned papers included in this die set. There are 4 sheets of yellow and 4 sheets with the stripes. I cut the main shape and hair from black cardstock. Next, I cut the doll out of cream cardstock. The dress and balloon were cut from the yellow paper shown. If you look closely, you can see that the dress has little embossed stars. The die for the socks actually cuts out little rectangles so if you are cutting from solid cardstock it will form stripes. Since the paper included already had stripes, I traced around the sock die-cut with a pencil and used my scissors to cut out a new pair of socks.

I gave this doll some rosy cheeks using pink chalk. To distress the edges of her dress and socks (seen in the photo of the assembled doll), I used Black Soot Distress Ink. Next, I highlighted the embossed stars on her dress with the Uni-Ball Signo Pen-White. Finally, I used a Zig Glue Pen for the assembly process, starting with her socks and working my way up to her hair.

After assembling the doll, I glued her to the black silhouette piece. Then I added the white star to the balloon and glued that on last.

I used the Lawn Fawn Snowy Backdrop Die to create my starry background scene. The large "hello" was cut out using the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello Die. The "Dropping By To Say" sentiment is from Lawn Fawn For You, Deer Stamps. To give the card some added dimension, I used Thermoweb 3D Foam Squares behind the girl, balloon, and sentiment.
Boom! A pretty easy die-cut card that required no coloring. :)

The Greeting Farm Cheeky Darling Digi + Cards and Colour Giveaway!!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm back today to introduce you to a brand new digital image from The Greeting Farm called CHEEKY DARLING!! I love the cheeky line and it's been a while since Marie has created a cheeky so I'm over the moon excited to show off this adorable and sassy girl!! Do you want a chance to win her?!!
This week, the Cards and Colour Facebook Group is giving their followers a chance to win a TGF Digi! Head over to the Cards and Colour Facebook Group, find this banner, and leave a comment in the comment section. Three people will win a digi of their choice!

Since this is a digi and can be printed at any size, I decided to make a wall hanging for my craft studio.  I colored her with Copic Markers and wrote the saying at the bottom with a Tombow Calligraphy Pen.

Skin: E000, E51, E21, E11, E13, E15
Hair: C3, C7, Black
Teal: BG11, BG13, BG15, BG18, BG75

Here she is all framed up. I forgot most frames are 8x10 and the picture I made was on a full sheet of paper 8 1/2 x 11. I had to resort to buying a document frame so it's not as pretty. Next time I will print her smaller, trim the paper to 8x10 and then write the saying.

If you want to purchase this digi she's available NOW, but if you want to try and win her head over to the Cards and Colour Facebook Group. Have an awesome week my friends!

Happy Tuesday everyone! I'm popping in with a special card to celebration Simon Says Stamp's 9th Birthday! They introduced a challenge last Wednesday with a Birthday theme so I'm coming in under the wire to enter the Wednesday Challenge: HAPPY BIRTHDAY. You still have a few more hours to enter so go make something really quick!! There are 9....yes I said NINE $50 Gift Certificates up for grabs!!

For my card I used a SSS exclusive stamp set called BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION. Kind of appropriate I think, haha! Isn't that elephant adorable?! I also stamped and paper-pieced 9 balloons....cause you know....they are celebrating 9 years. :)

Elephant: C3, C5, C7, C9
Ears: R11, R20, R22
Stardust Stickles
Liquid Applique

I used papers from an older Echo Park 6x6 Paper Pad called Party Time. The circle frame around the sentiment was created using MFT Stitched Circle Scallop Frames Die

The cupcakes were cut out from a patterned 12x12 sheet of paper. The ribbon and enamel dots are from my stash.

You still have another day to enter the SSS Wednesday Challenge so make a birthday card and link it up. Remember, there are 9 chances to win! I'm keeping my fingers and toes crossed!!

The Greeting Farm Faith Release Preview: PRECIOUS

Happy Monday everyone! We have a new Faith Stamp coming to The Greeting Farm on April 15th! I can't tell you how much I love these stamp sets! Every month, we will introduce 1 new faith-based stamp, but as you will see these stamps can be used for all different types of projects! They are so versatile and perfect for cards, Bible Journaling, bookmarks, scrapbook layouts and planners.

We are doing things a little differently starting this month. We will be previewing the new Faith Release on the Sunday prior to the 15th, and then releasing the new faith stamp in The Greeting Farm Store on the 15th with the regular release. That way you can add it to your cart at the same time as your regular release order instead of having to wait until the end of the month! That should make things a lot easier. Don't forget, these girls from the Hallelujah set were released at the end of March and definitely need to be a part of your TGF Collection. :)
Today's set is called PRECIOUS!! There are so many amazing uses and variations using this set. You should see the card my DT sister Joni made using just the jewels in this set....AMAZING!! You can see all the awesome DT projects on the Blog HERE.

I used the Angel and stamped her 3 times and then colored her with different skin tones. I love the sentiments that also come in this set. I altered one of the sentiments by covering parts of it with post-it notes as I was stamping so I could form a continuous line.

Girl 1 Skin: E000, E51, E21, E11, E13
Girl 2 Skin: E13, E15, E18, E29
Girl 3 Skin: E11, E13, E15
Hair: C3, C7, Black
Wings: BG10, BG11, BG13
White: C0, C3, Colorless Blender
Pink: R02, R06, R09
Star Dust Stickles

Don't forget, this will be available in The Greeting Farm Store for purchase on the 15th! We will start Day 1 of Previews for the regular release on the 11th at 12am EST. Be sure to check the TGF Blog to see all the sneak peeks of what's coming to the store on the 15th! It's another AMAZING release!!

I'm entering this into Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: A Trio Of Something

Make it Crafty APRIL Challenge: DEW DROPS!

Happy Thursday everyone! If you haven't seen the news yet....I'M BAAAAAACK!! I'm so thrilled to be a part of the Make it Crafty Inspiration Team again!! Thank you Zoe and the other wonderful ladies on the team for welcoming me back with open arms!!

The new Coloring Challenge for the month of April is Dew Drops. You can link up your creations HERE. Zoe has included a couple of awesome video tutorials on the challenge post to guide you along. Also, if you do a google search on how to color water droplets, you will find a lot of inspiration on the web.

For my card I used the Frangipani Digi Stamp. I printed it on Copic Xpress It Blending Card. I started the dew drops on the leaves so I could start with larger drops. On the leaves, I used a pencil and made an outline of the droplets. I think the key to making them look realistic is to make sure not to do uniform circles. I started off doing circles, but as you will see the ones that look the most realistic are the ones that are more oblong. I then colored the top of the drops dark and went lighter towards the bottom. Next, I added a drop shadow along the bottom of the dew drop using gray markers.
Dew Drops and Leaf Color: YG23, YG25, YG17, YG67, G28
Drop Shadow along bottom of dew drops: C3, C5, C6

I did a little different technique on the flowers since they would require smaller droplets. I actually colored the flowers completely first. Then I came in with my colorless blender marker and lightened circles inside the petals. I had to press the colorless blender into the petals several times to get the areas light enough to make dew drops, but for me that was easier since I was doing two-tone flowers. You can also see my pink marker exploded (top left), but I wasn't about to start over so I fussy cut the image out to make my card.

Now, what really makes the droplets POP and look dimensional are the white highlights! I first lightened the bottom of the droplets with white pencil. I couldn't find my white copic ink so I improvised. I had a white paint marker and just rubbed some of it on a piece of plastic. Next I used a thin paintbrush and added a line and a couple of dots on the top area of the dew drop. As you can see, the white highlights are the key!

Copics for flowers:
Pink: RV09, RV06, RV02, RV10
Yellow: Y32, Y21, YR21, YR23, YR24
Drop Shadow: C3, C1
Colorless Blender

Here is my completed card! The word Hi is an older chippie that MiC used to carry. I need to restock my Chipboard with all the new stuff!

I hope to see all of you playing along with this challenge! I know it's hard to believe, but all of us on the team have our fears with each challenge Zoe gives us. But I guarantee if you try it, you will find that it is less intimidating the more you get into it. When I look back, I've noticed that my best coloring has come out of these challenges. There are NO failed attempts if you try. You will always learn something from the process! And remember, Zoe and the rest of us are always here to help. All you have to do is ask!!

Have an awesome Thursday! I can't wait to see what you create!
