This week our challenge is:

BLACK & WHITE

I decided to
use the AH-DORABLE Big Panda Marci! Isn't she the cutest thing ever?!? I just love her hat and how her hair covers her eye.....like I said, adorable!!

Coloring Medium: Copics
Skin: C3, N2, N0
Hair: N8, N6, N2, N0
Hat & Panda: C3, C5, C7, N0, liquid applique,
clear glossy accents, black glossy accents
Shirt: C3, N4, N2, N0
Vest: Liquid Applique
Pants: C7, N4, N2, N0, Silver Stickles
Belt: black glossy accents, Silver Stickles
Boots: C3, C5, C7, clear glossy accents

Now, this is the first time I have ever colored an image as black and white so I thought this was really going to be difficult. However, I actually found it easier to color in black & white than in color....is that weird? I guess it's because I always have a hard time choosing color combos, especially for the clothes, so working in grays just seemed easier.

My white and black cardstock are from Close To My Heart. The dps came from Making Memories Wedding 8x8 pad and I edged them with Black Soot Distress Ink. I used a Martha Stewart Ribbon Loop Border Punch to make my border. The crystal swirls are from Recollections and the crystal dots in the corners are from Studio18. The ribbon was really wide so I folded it in half and glued it with Fabri-Tac. :)

I stamped some white cardstock with a few Glitz background stamps & then cut out small pennants with my Spellbinder Nested Lacey Pennants. You can see in the side view that I raised Marci and the pennants on pop-dots.

Now, don't forget to check the La-La Land Crafts Blog on Friday for more inspiration from my fellow DT sisters. You'll also want to join us next week because we've got a SURPRISE for you! :) :)

And remember, you can play along with us all month long by uploading your creations to our Customer Gallery. At the end of the month, we'll do a drawing and you'll have to chance to win a gift certificate to the STORE.

Happy Crafting!
Rosie :)

Inspiration Monday-Creams and Blues

Happy Monday everyone! It's time for another Inspiration Monday at the La-La Land Crafts Blog and this week we have a color challenge for you:

Creams and Blues

This week I decided to work with the gorgeous and beautiful Princess Marci! I loved coloring her and paper-piecing her dress. That's the great thing about these images...the coloring and paper-piecing options are endless!!

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E02, E11, chalk
Lips: R20, chalk
Hair: E29, E37, E33
Crown: Paper-pieced, stardust stickles, gold stickles
Dress: Paper-pieced (blue areas shaded with chalk)
Tan areas shaded with E31, E55, colorless blender
Gold Stickles

It's hard to tell in the photos, but I added little gold stud earrings to her ears with a little drop of Gold Stickles....so cute in real life!

The beautiful dps are from Close to my Heart. I used the Sizzix Crown die and embossed it with The Paper Studio Mesh Embossing Folder. Then I rubbed Walnut Stain Distress Ink over the edges and top of the crown. I covered the entire crown in Stardust Stickles and outlined the edges with Gold Stickles. I also covered the Fleur-de-lis and Cross with Gold Stickles. The blue pearl and blue & clear rhinestones came from my stash. The large cream pearls are from Recollections.

The blue ribbon trimmed in gold came from my stash also, but I'm pretty sure I got it from Michaels. I used my Bow Easy to tie my double looped bow. The sentiment is from a set by Pebbles Inc. (I got it from my local Hobby Lobby)

In this side view photo, I tried to capture the sparkle from all the stickles. It's really sparkly and pretty in person!

If you want to see more inspiration from my fellow DT sisters, then be sure to head on over to the La-La Land Crafts Blog. You can also participate in our challenges all month long by uploading your creations to the Gallery for a chance to win a gift certificate to the STORE.

Happy Creating and see ya back here soon! If you stopped by, please leave me a comment so I know you were here!

Have a great week and Happy Thanksgiving to ya!

This week our challenge is:

Red, Lace & Pearls!

I decided to use Santa Marci! I'm soooooo getting into the Christmas Spirit so I decided I would make a Christmas card. :)

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Skin: E000, E00, R81, chalk
Hair: E37, E33
Hat/Dress/Boots: R24, R27, R29, liquid applique
Vest/Tights/Stocking: R81, R83, R85, Stickles
Candy Cane: R29, R24
Holly: R29, R24, YG75, YG97
Panda: C7

My background dp came from MME Lost&Found Christmas and the red, polka-dot paper came from Recollections Union Square. The tan lace came from Walmart. I used my new Sizzix Die to cut the Christmas Tree and embossed it with one of the folders in the Cuttlebug Plum Blossom set. Then I added CTMH pearls and Xmas Red Stickles. The star was covered with Silver Stickles and it was also added to the red tree base.

I added larger white pearls to the corners and raised Santa Marci on pop-dots for added dimension.

Don't forget you can play along and upload your creations all month long to our Customer Gallery. Have a great week and see ya back here soon!

Hugs,
Rosie

Inspiration Monday-Mauve, Silver & White

Happy Monday Morning y'all!! Did you remember to turn your clocks back an hour?? I almost forgot until I saw it on Facebook...so I guess there's some good that comes from Facebooking....right?!?! On that note, you should "LIKE" the La-La Land Crafts page so you can get all the latest and greatest updates on everything new and see some awesome inspiration!
When the Facebook Page reaches 2,000 fans, Irina will have a GIVEAWAY of course!! How about a set of 12 Copic Markers in new colors, a pack of X-Press It Blending Card plus $15 credit to our store?!?! Now go tell all your friend to like the La-La Land Crafts Facebook page because the sooner we get to 2,000 fans, the sooner we'll have that drawing!!
This week our challenge is:

Mauve, Silver & White!

This was a tough challenge, especially since there are different shades of MAUVE. Some shades have a pinkish undertone and some more lavender. I went with the more pinkish Mauve for this super CA-UTE Ruffles Marci. I just LOVE her and she was so much fun to color! I added the polka-dots to her headband. :)

Coloring Medium: Copics & Chalk
Skin: E000, E00, chalk, RV32
Hair: E29, E37, E33
Headband: RV91, RV93, RV95, Silver ZIG Metallic Pen, Stickles, Black Sharpie
Dress: RV91, RV93, RV95, Silver ZIG Metallic Pen, Stickles
Shoes: C7, C3, Stickles

For the background Mauve dp, I found a free download at the Pixel Scrapper HERE. The silver, glittery dp is from The Paper Studio at Hobby Lobby. The white circle behind Marci is embossed with Cuttlebug A2 Kars Snowflakes. I colored the embossed dots with my Zig Silver Metallic pen and then added Stardust Stickles to the top. I used SB Floral Doily Motifs to cut the dark mauve cardstock. I added white dew drops from the The Robin's Nest Hyacinth Dew Drops across the top and bottom of the silver panels.

The ribbon came from my stash and I used my Bow Easy to tie the double loop bow. The sparkly, silver brads on the ribbon and in the middle of my ribbon flower came from The Paper Studio. The silver glittery leaves are part a Christmas bundle from Hobby Lobby. The pearls also came from Hobby Lobby.

Here's a side view so you can see the dimension. Marci is raised on pop-dots. :)

I hope you check out the La-La Land Crafts blog to see the other creations from my DT sisters. They are all so amazing and gorgeous! Don't forget, you can link up your creations all month long in the Customer Gallery for a chance at winning a gift certificate to the Store.

Have a great week!
Hugs,
Rosie :)
