LLLC Inspiration Monday---Back to School!

Happy Monday y'all (said with a Texas accent)! Well, we are finally in Texas and still trying to dig our way out of the never-ending stacks of boxes! I realize I'm am a borderline hoarder!! Yes, folks....we are talking about 18 years of stuff....some of which I still haven't sorted through. Well no more I tell ya! It is my goal to get through every last box and do some major purging!!

On top of the big move, this past week we have been trying to get all the school paperwork filled out and the back-to-school shopping done. It's been busy to say the least so I have been a little MIA with my crafting. I think I have unpacked enough boxes to get me going. It's an unorganized, hot mess at the moment, which makes crafting a little frustrating. But, I did find an IKEA store about an hour from me, so all those PINTEREST ideas are piling up, LOL! Now I just need the moolah and the time to get it all organized! Wish me luck!!

Today's theme at La-La Land Crafts is:

BACK TO SCHOOL!

And for us, it literally is back to school!! Bright and early this morning!! Come on....who's bright idea was it to start school at 7:45am for an elementary kid?! My child doesn't want to go to bed before midnight, even if we get him up at the crack of dawn! I'm pretty sure a nap is going to be in my future. :)

For my project, I used the super-adorable Back to School Luka. He so reminds me of Isaiah with his backpack and skateboard. Isaiah wants a skateboard so badly, but he's clumsy y'all! I mean it....he falls standing up, haha!

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44, E43
Shirt/Shorts: E84, E81
Sweater: B02, B05, YR07, YR09
Tie: YR07, YR09
Backpack: YR07 YR09, N8, N6, N4
Socks: B05, B02
Shoes: N8, N6, N4
Skateboard: R29, R27, R24, N8, N6, N4

I used a really easy template from RePlayGround to make this Pencil Case. I also used the Heart Fence Die at the bottom behind Luka. It's such a versatile die!! The paper came from my stash.
Here's the top opened so you can see the pencils inside. I'm sure my little boy is going to confiscate this when he sees it to add to his other pencil holder.

Now don't forget, you can play along with us by adding your creations to the LLLC Customer Gallery. And, to stay up-to-date on the latest and greatest things happening with LLLC and also to be the first to know about sales, you should "LIKE" our Facebook Page and LLLC FB Group. CropStop Challenge 86: Back to School

Happy Thursday y'all! Well I'm in the new house in Texas, but man are there a lot of boxes to unpack!!! It's leaving me stressed, depressed and frazzled! I want everything to be in it's place already and it's frustrating searching through boxes to try and find what I'm looking for since I didn't pack it. Usually the packers are a little more detailed on their descriptions, but this time around they were in such a hurry they just wrote really vague things. On top of it, they didn't always put "like" items together. The pot might be in one box, but the lid in another....things like that.

Well enough complaining! Like a friend said...."One box at a time!" It's really the truth and that's how I need to approach it....even if all I get to unpack is 1 box...at least it's one less box to worry about. I have the bedding and towels washed so that is definitely a plus!

Today at CropStop, our challenge for you is:

BACK TO SCHOOL!!

My Oklahoma peeps started school this week, but here in Texas, school doesn't start until Monday, Aug. 27th. At first I was really happy about the late start so Isaiah could get a little adjusted in the new house. But now he's bored....really, really bored!! So school will be a big relief...for BOTH of us!!

For my project today, I used this awesome FREEBIE from Whimsie Doodles called Pencil Pixie. She was perfect for my Pencil Box Project. I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and chalk.

Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Headband/Dress: R22, R24, R27, R29, Stardust Stickles
Wings: R11, Stardust Stickles
Shoes: N8, N6, N4, Stardust Stickles
Pencil: YR21, Y21, YR23, B99, R05, E53

Here's my project for this week.....a Pencil Box Holder!! I found this awesome template by Ilina Creations called First Day Ensemble. I knew when I saw it that I just had to have it!! I know I'll use this so many times throughout Isaiah's school years!! For this project, I did add an "eraser" and I used the insert to hold pencils. But I think it would be cute as a candy holder too (without the insert)!!

CropStop Supplies Used:
Core-dinations Cardstock
Scor-pal & Scor-tape
X-press It Blending Card
Copics
Stardust Stickles

I used Core-dinations Cardstock and I love it!! It has a textured surface and if you emboss with it, you can sand the embossing to reveal a different color in the core!! Here's a side view with the top opened.

And, a top view so you can see the insert which holds the pencils in the middle better. Of course this one is not filled up, so the pencils are falling to the side.

My little boy has since taken it over and added all sorts of stuff to the outside and inside!! He LOVED it as soon as he saw it all put together, and asked if he could have it. When I said yes (I know, I'm crazy), his eyes got all big and he said I was the best Momma ever!! Then he said I needed to take that girl image off, LOL!

He's hugging it, haha!

Now don't forget you have a week to play along with us!! Head on over to the CropStop blog to link up your "Back to School" card/project! And, remember you can get all your crafty needs/wants fulfilled in the CropStop Store!! There have been lots of new goodies going up so head over there and check them out!!

Have a great week and see you back here soon for more "Back to School" projects!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

The lucky winner will receive 1 Y&F Rubber Stamp of our choice!

Our challenge for the next two weeks is an easy one!

ANYTHING GOES!!

Since this is the very first challenge, you can use any image you want!! Told ya...EASY PEASY!!

But please take the time to review all of the challenge rules HERE to make sure you qualify (the rules are under "Challenge Info" at the top tab). You have until Saturday, September 1st, 11am PST to link up your new project (one entry per blog). We will pick one Prize Winner and 3 Top Picks.

Starting with the 2nd challenge on September 2nd, you WILL have to use a Yumi & Fumi Handmade or Sister Stamps image to qualify for the prize drawing.

Also, you'll definitely want to come like the Y&F Handmade Crafts Facebook Fan Page so you can stay up-to-date, get your challenge reminders, and share your creations!

For my big project today I decided to use the ever-versatile and adorable Fumi with Present!! I think her hair is so darn cute!! :)
Copics/Chalk:

Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Eyes: E39, E44
Hair: E47, E44
Kimono: R24, R27, R29, R37
Sash: Black, N8, N6
Gift/Shoes: YR24, YR23, YR21

For my project today I made a 12-Drawer Easel Card Dresser...say that 10 times fast, LOL! I made one of these a long, long time ago and when I started to make this one I realized why I haven't made them more often. They take quite a bit of time, patience and cardstock!! I hope to do a tutorial on it soon. I did add some instruction to my original post HERE.
I used black textured Bazzill Cardstock for the matchboxes/holders, side panels, and top/bottom panels. To give it some sturdiness I cut out 6x6 chipboard and covered it on both sides with the black cardstock to make the base and top panels. Then I made an Easel Card to sit on top of the top panel. The gold dp is from The Paper Studio. The flowery dp is actual some free digital paper I found online at the Canon site HERE.
The roses and black swirls are from Recollections. The ribbon came from my stash. The sentiment is from CTMH. It's hard to see it, but it says:
"Yesterday is history
Tomorrow is a mystery
Today is a Gift
That's why we call it the Present."
I thought it went perfectly with this stamp. :) I stamped it in Gold ink and then wrote over it with a Gold Sharpie Paint Pen to make it brighter and easier to see. The knobs are wooden ones from Hobby Lobby. I used my Gold Sharpie Paint Pen to color them and then glued them to the front of each matchbox.

Here's a back view so you can see that the drawers go all the way around....3 on each side.
Hope you enjoyed my project!! I'm finally getting settled into our new house. There's still lots of cleaning and unpacking to do, but at least I have some of the kitchen done so I can start cooking again!! My wonderful MIL is coming at the end of the month for 2 weeks to help me unpack and get organized. I can't wait!! I'll be back on another day to share house pics!

Don't forget, for a chance at the prize drawing be sure to link up your creations on the Y&F Handmade Crafts Blog (please provided a direct link to your project, not just to your blog).

We hope you have a great time creating and I can't wait to see what you do!!

Hugs!!
Rosie

CropStop Challenge #84: Fruit as Inspiration!

Happy Thursday everyone! Well, the packers came and did their job and now we're "hotel living" for the next several days. Not much longer and we'll be moved. Lots of emotions this week!

Today's challenge at CropStop is:

FRUIT AS INSPIRATION!

I decided to used the colors in a watermelon: Red, Green, & Black.

I used this super cute Tea Time Marci and colored her with Copics.
Copics Used:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E47, E44
Red: R29, R27, R24, R22
Black: Black, N8, N6, N4

The awesome dps are from a new pad I got called Echo Park "This & That." It's got some really gorgeous papers in that pad....thinking I should have bought more than one, LOL! You can see my list of CropStop supplies below.
CropStop Supplies Used:
Copics
X-Press It Blending Card
Martha Stewart Border Punch
Memory Box La Rue Heart Die

In the side view, you can see I raised Marci on pop-dots.

Well, that's all for me folks! I'm rushing trying to get 50 million things done this week so my post today is really short and sweet! Don't forget to enter our challenge for a chance at a CropStop gift certificate....lots of new goodies are arriving daily!!

Have a great week!

Love ya,
Rosie :)

Inspiration Monday~~More Than 1 Fold!

Happy Monday y'all! Well, the day is almost here. Tomorrow and Wednesday, the packers will be here. It's rather bittersweet. I'm excited about our move and our future, but it's hard leaving family and friends. :( I do have 2 best friends who live in Texas, within 15 minutes of where we are moving so that's a little comforting to me. I'll at least know 2 people, haha!

I'm working from a different computer as my laptop crashed on Friday! Hubby is still trying to see if he can fix it. I hope so because did I back anything up??? Ummmm....NO!! I kept telling myself that I needed to do it especially before the move and then BOOM, outta nowhere, the thing shuts off on me and won't come back on!! :(

The theme this week at La-La Land Crafts is:

MORE THAN 1 FOLD!!

I used this super adorable Luka with Flowers! He comes with 2 sentiments, and he's very versatile for many different occasions. I gave him some rosy cheeks. :) He's colored with both Copics and Chalk.
Copics & Chalk:
Skin: E000, E00, E11, chalk
Hair: E49, E37, E33, E13
Shirt: B91, B93, B95
Flowers: R81, R83, R85, Y15, R24, R27, R29, G24, YG17, YG97
Vase: N2, Stickles
Pants: E55, E11, E53
Shoes: B91, B93, B95, N0, N2

I also used several La-La Land Crafts DIES for the front of this Z-Fold Card.
DIES:
Filigree Corner Die

Here's the full view of the Z-Fold Card. I cut two bases, which started as 6" x 12". On the top, long side, I marked it at 4 inches from the left. Then on the short side I marked it 4 inches from the bottom. I line up my lines on the paper trimmer and cut it on the diagonal. The I scored at 4" and 8". You can find a Z-Fold Card tutorial HERE. It's for an 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper, but just follow my measurements above for 6" x 12".
The dps are a combo of DCWV Linen Closet & MME Portobello Road and I edged them with Walnut Stain Distress Ink. The sentiment is from Close To My Heart. The lace is from The Paper Studio.

I cut 3 Tulip Borders and glued the bottom edge to the back side of the card (I cut off end pieces so they lined up perfectly). Then I attached a 2nd Z-fold card to the back so the die-cuts are sandwiched between the 2 cardstock pieces. I hope that makes sense!

Don't forget you can play along with us by uploading your creations to the Customer Gallery. Head on over to the LLLC Store to snag these amazing Dies and Stamps....believe me, you won't be disappointed!

Have a great week and see you soon!

Hugs,
Rosie :)

CropStop Challenge #83: Go Fly a Kite!

Happy Thursday y'all! Can you believe it's already August?? Man, the summer went by really fast!! I don't even feel like we had a chance to do much this summer. Lately, we've been trying to squeeze in as many play dates as we can for our little guy. It's really bittersweet! He has some really amazing friends and we've gotten so much closer to them over the last few weeks, which makes leaving even harder. The packers come in less than a week and we'll soon be in Texas. School starts there on August 27th so at least we have a little time to get settled in.

Did you see that CropStop is having a Creative Team Call?? If you want to be part of an amazing team with some wonderful ladies then please, please apply! I would love to see some of you working along side of me. It'll be fun!! :)

This week at CropStop our challenge is:

GO FLY A KITE!
(use a kite on your project)

I found this gorgeous Saturated Canary image called "Windy Day" and knew she was perfect for this challenge. I love her beautiful, flowing hair! She took me forever to color with all the layers and detail, but I just love how she turned out! I printed her on X-Press It Blending Card and colored her with Copics and Stardust Stickles. I made the sky/grass background using Chalk. I also added some Sweet Pea Flower Soft to the grass area.

Copics:
Skin: E000, E00, E01, E11, Chalk
Eyes: E39, E35
Lips: R22
Flower: RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, G02, G09, Stickles
DRESS:
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles
Pink: RV06, RV04, RV02, Stickles
Green: G00, G02, G05, G07
Orange: YR02, YR68, Stickles
Blue: B00, B01, B02, B04
Scarf: G00, G02, G05, G07
Shoes: RV02, RV04, RV06
KITE:
RV02, RV04, RV06, RV09, E35, G05, G02, G00
Dots: RV21, RV04, YR68, G02, B01, Stickles

The textured pink cardstock is from Core'dinations, and the gorgeous dps came from a new paper pad I just recently purchased called DCWV "The Carnival Stack". I used a Martha Stewart Border Punch on the pink cardstock behind the center panel.

The corner die is from Whimsy Stamps and the embossed butterflies are from a Stampin' Up Emboss & Cut Die. My sentiment is from La-La Land Crafts. The flowers are WOC and Recollections and the ribbon is from Hobby Lobby.

CHALLENGES ENTERED:
Designed to Color--Scene It!
Saturated Canary--The Great Outdoors!

Now don't forget you can play along with us by linking up your creations to the CropStop Challenge Blog! Every Thursday we introduce a new challenge and weekly drawings are done for a gift certificate to the CropStop Store.
